Tras muchos años de llevar el conocimiento a quienes no tenía acceso al Internet, Microsoft decide dar un paso al costado y con ello dejará de publicar su ya clásica Enciclopedia Encarta hasta junio de este año.
Sin embargo no todo queda ahí y es que los usuarios de este producto que aun tenían el respaldo de la empresa en sus espaldas solo podrán recibir soporte hasta Octubre para el común de los mortales y Diciembre en Japón.
La verdad sea dicha a modo personal use muy poco la Enciclopedia Encarta, sin embargo conocí a algunas personas que si la usaron de forma activa sobre todo en el tema de ayudar a sus hijos hacer tareas y de hecho muchos niños creo yo que uno de sus primeros contactos con lo que luego sería el Internet y la Wikipedia lo hicieron primero con Encarta.
Como sea, este año es de cambios, crisis y demás y la cultura por obvias razones no puede quedar atrás, más aun cuando hay un vasto mar de conocimiento por navegar llamado Internet.
