Si bien Microsoft aún no ha podido solucionar los problemas de actualización de algunos de sus dispositivos con Windows Phone 7, es bueno saber que no han dejado de trabajar en las actualizaciones del sistema operativo. Según el último Windows Phone Dev. Podcast, han comenzado a trabajar en una versión mejorada de Bing que se dará a conocer en un futuro próximo con la actualización de Mango. Brandon Watson de Microsoft llegó como invitado para discutir sobre las nuevas características.
La próxima actualización de Bing añadirá un montón de nuevas funcionalidades al sistema operativo. Habrá una nueva función llamada Bing de audio que permite a los usuarios a reconocer las canciones (como Shazam o Soundhound) y proporcionaran un vínculo a la tienda Zune para la compra de música.
Bing Visión permitirá utilizar la cámara del teléfono para leer códigos de barras y realizar análisis de OCR, y posiblemente ofrecerá soporte para aplicaciones de realidad aumentada. Bing Maps también se actualizará con instrucciones de voz. Un reproductor de podcast nativo también se dice que debería incluirse, así como una función de voz para mensajes de texto.
